There are a ton of possible quarterbacks that could line up under center for the Jets next season. Here is a quick rundown of each as the NFL Draft gets underway right now.Kellen Clemens. The current starting quarterback on the Jets’ roster, he would be the guy if the team decides to stay put and choose a wide receiver or tight end with the 17th pick. Clemens would have to beat out Brett Ratliff, but I think that will happen.
Mark Sanchez. If the Jets can somehow trade up high enough to draft the quarterback from Southern Cal, he will be the starter. This would be a huge move for the Jets.
Josh Freeman. Would be a longshot to start if the Jets draft the Kansas State quarterback at No. 17 overall, but could be in the game if Clemens or Ratliff fall flat.
Marc Bulger. If the Rams surprise everyone and take Sanchez at No. 2, Bulger would seemingly be available and could be a Jet by training camp.
Brady Quinn. If the Browns take Sanchez at No. 5 then you gotta think they will trade the former Notre Dame passer. The Jets would be an obvious destination.
Jason Campbell. If the Redskins trade up and grab Sanchez, then Campbell is a goner. Rumors have him possibly going to the Jets. I would revolt if this happened.
So there you go. We’re in late April and any one of seven quarterbacks could be the Jets starter next season.
