VOTE NOW ON OUR NEXT TWO "FIRST & GOAL" POLL QUESTIONS

Hopefully everybody liked the changes I made to the sports section today, but more importantly, it's time to vote on our First & Goal polls for the next couple weeks. The first poll to the right involves the local boys basketball scene and which player you would take No. 1 overall in an all-school draft. The results of that column will run next Tuesday. Also, the Super Bowl winner poll question results will run just before Super Sunday ... so take the time to vote in that one as well. As always, we welcome your feedback, so let you know right here in the comments section why you made the choice you did in either or both polls. Just make sure you leave your name with the comment so we can credit you in the paper.

First and Goal pole I chose my brother Jake Hasler because of the hard work that he has put in over the years ever since he was little. He's definetly become a very good player and I wish him the best of luck. Sincerly, his brother Steve Hasler.

Thanks for the comment.

For an update: We got a lot of votes in just two days, so everyone continue to spread the word and get people to vote in the polls. And, also, comment your thoughts right here. There is still a lot of time left to vote.

And, everyone, take the time to vote in the other two polls as well on the main page, underneath the basketball poll. The Super Bowl question is next week's First & Goal poll and will run before Super Sunday. The sports gaming question will run in Friday's paper.

Brad - This is fine to generate some fun and get readers involved. Hopefully if you are considering All City teams and the best players in each sport as well as Athlete of the Year it will be decided by speaking with coaches and staff writers. Otherwise it becomes who can pump in the most votes regardless of skill, ability, or accomplishments.

Don't worry about any of that "awards" stuff. This is just for fun and all of the other stuff will be done by us - including Athletes of the Week and Athletes of the Year. This is supposed to be about fun, hopefully everyone takes it that way.
